Nurol Makina, as a company of Nurol Holding, was founded in 1976 and it has been active in certain areas of the defence industry as well since 1992 – as one of the first privately owned companies.
For a long time, it was involved in the production of certain components and equipment, and then it developed the Ejder Yalçin armoured personnel carrier family as a stand-alone product, taking into account the needs of the Turkish army, gendarmerie and police. This 4×4 vehicle was commissioned by the Turkish National Police in 2014 as its first purchaser, and as early as 2017 the first foreign order was received: Tunisia bought from the Block III series. Since then, Uzbekistan, Qatar, and Senegal have also opted for Ejder Yalçin. In December 2020, Hungary announced that the Hungarian Defence Forces would also commission this type: moreover, in cooperation with Rheinmetall, a domestic production line and Research and Development capability would be set up.
